Who we are?

Greater Shantallow Community Arts / Studio 2 is a community arts youth work organisation, set up to bring access to the arts into the heart of disadvantaged communities.


Our promise to you

GSCA / Studio 2 promises to protect and respect your privacy. Your personal information belongs to you, so it's important that it is kept safe and only used in ways that you have already agreed to. Data protection law makes sure everyone’s data is used properly and legally. This privacy notice lets you know what happens to any personal information that you give to us.


What is personal data?

Personal data is any information that identifies who you are. This might be your name and address, any allergies you might have or a picture or recording of you. It could also include information about the people you live with or are responsible for you and their contact details, telephone number, email address.

What rights do I have under data protection law?

The Data Protection Act and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 give legal rights to everyone whose personal information is collected and stored by an organisation. It is your right:

• to be told about what we do with your personal data

• to get copies of the data GSCA / Studio 2 holds about you

• to have your data corrected if it is wrong or out of date

• to have your data deleted if you no longer want us to hold this information

• to limit how we use your data

• to take the data we hold with you to another organisation

• to stop your data being used in certain circumstances

• to stop organisations relying on technology to make decisions about you

We will do everything we can to protect your personal information by;

• Only collecting the information we need, updating your data when something changes, keeping it secure and private; and

• Protecting your rights which includes telling you what data we hold about you when asked and removing your data when asked to do so.

What information do we collect from you and why?

We collect personal data such as your name, date of birth, address, emergency contact details, information about your health and wellbeing, educational needs, your opinions and community background as well as information about the programmes and events you participate in. We will always ask for your permission to collect and store this information.

Your data enables GSCA / Studio 2 to keep in touch with you, to meet your needs and provide a safe space for you to enjoy with your friends. It allows us to improve the services we offer, obtain funding, keep our funders up to date with what we are doing, and it enables us to stay within the law.


What do we do with your information?

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal data is used and stored securely. We will never share your information with organisations that might want to use your personal details to sell you something or advertise their services. We may share certain information with trusted organisations to enable us to deliver particular services to you or meet our legal responsibilities.

We will not share your personal information with other organisations unless we have a legal duty to do so, or you have given us your permission to share it.


How long do we keep your information?

We do not keep your personal information any longer than we need it. We keep a register that tells us how long we can keep your personal information and how to delete it. You can ask for this information from the Youth Worker in Charge.
