ASSOCIATE ARTIST PROGRAMME
Greater Shantallow Community Arts (GSCA), through Studio 2 Derry, proposes to establish a pilot Associate Artist Programme that directly supports the ambitions of our 2025-2030
Strategic Development Plan, Create, Connect, Inspire, Care, Community.
The programme will provide an emerging or established artist with a structured six-month developmental opportunity that combines artistic practice, community engagement, professional development and creative leadership.
The Associate Artist will become embedded within the organisation's artistic and community programmes, benefiting from mentoring, workspace, networking opportunities and direct engagement with local communities while contributing to the creative life of Greater Shantallow Community Arts.
This initiative reflects our belief that artists are central to thriving communities and that investment in creative practitioners strengthens cultural participation, community wellbeingand artistic excellence throughout the Derry and Strabane district.

The Associate Artist Programme will contribute directly to the five core pillars of GSCA’s Strategic Development Plan.
CREATE
The programme will provide dedicated time, space and resources for the artist to develop new creative work, experiment with ideas and advance their artistic practice.
Through access to Studio 2 facilities, mentoring and creative support, the artist will be encouraged to explore innovative approaches to storytelling, community arts and cultural expression.

CONNECT
The Associate Artist will actively engage with local communities, community groups, young people, older people and participants across GSCA programmes.
